Explanation
A beautiful grove of large beech trees on Alpe di Neggia is considered an energy centre.
The energy is good near the metal cross on Monte Gambarogno, but it is stronger a few minutes away on the mountain top. There is an energetic vortex on the small plateau adjacent to the highest point of the mountain, which emanates energy around its vicinity. The view of the lake and woods is extraordinary from there.
The walk from Monte Gambarogno to Alpe Cedullo is a challenge. There is a beautiful energy-infused rock on the mountain’s grassland. It is bigger than all the others and includes a natural basin for offerings at its feet (front right) an altar made of rock with a flat surface.
The clearing close to Sant’Anna church is a significant topographical junction with many paths coming together and then leading off in different directions. In a similar vein, the inside of the clearing around the church is a good place to take decisions when life offers you a number of opportunities, a place to reflect before making the best choice. The church door is almost always closed but you can still see inside it.

Track types
Turn-by-turn directions
This route is of medium difficulty and takes between three and four hours in total. However, we recommend allowing more time to stop at the energy sites and enjoy the view. We recommend a good hiking map as the signs are not always sufficient.
Alpe di Neggia is in the region of Gambarogno at an altitude of 1395 m and can be reached by bus no. 326 from Magadino or private transport. You can go from there up to the summit of Monte Gambarogno. There are two paths: one is shorter and direct and takes 45 min. up to the summit passing by meadows and pastureland and is suitable for families. The other panoramic path is suitable for local excursions and lasts one hour. It starts a few metres to the right of the direct path and, although at the start it is like a dirt road, it soon turns into a white-red path like the medium-difficulty hiking trails. As you pass the right side of the mountain you see beautiful views of Lake Maggiore. Due to some trails being exposed to the cliff, the panoramic trail is not suitable for small children.
The path passes the big metal cross of Monte Gambarogno (1687 m) and you will reach the effective summit of the mountain after a few minutes (1734 m). From the summit you go down and pass the beech trees in the Muda prior to arriving at Alpe Cedullo (1287 m) in under an hour. It takes 5 to 10 minutes from the mountain to go down to the clearing of Sant’Anna church (1342 m).
It takes 45 minutes from Sant’Anna, the picturesque area of Indemini (979 m) passing through the beautiful woods and going alongside striking rock formations and following paths from where you can enjoy the views of the valley below. You can take the bus or private transport from Indemini to return to civilisation.
