From Verscio, reachable by car or the Centovalli Railway (Locarno-Domodossola), the tour starts steeply at first before revealing a fantastic view. From the station, a narrow road leads up to the main road. Cross the road and turn left into the square, where you can already see the signposts. On the hiking trail that was newly built a few years ago, we head up towards the Oratorio Sant'Anna. The easily accessible path, which includes many steps, leads through a wonderful landscape of chestnut trees, birches and beeches. After almost 200 metres of ascent, you have more than earned a break at the Oratory. The small 17th century chapel (not accessible) is a place of tranquillity, from where you have a brilliant view over Lake Maggiore, the Maggia delta and the Centovalli. Continue mostly flat through the forest to below Monte Zucchero before heading downhill back to Verscio.
