Use the parking spaces in the centre of Ronco s/Ascona where the church, post office and Infopoint are situated. As parking spaces are limited, we recommend using the public transport. Get off at the bus stop “Ronco s/Ascona Posta”. From there follow the road up to the cemetery. Various famous personalities rest in the cemetery, which can be visited, such as Eric Maria Remarque, Paulette Goddard, Ernst Fischer, Kurt Hoffmann, Ursula La Ruelle, Rolf Lenne, Gerhard Maasz and Richard Seewald. Immediately after the cemetery, a mule track leads up towards Porano. This is also where the “Via Crucis” begins, along the way are several wooden crosses and chapels. After about 50 minutes you reach the hamlet of Porano. Here are houses and a beautiful meadow with a breathtaking view of Lago Maggiore. Further on in the forest you get to a street that leads into the mountain landscape of Ronco. Continue on the asphalt for a few meters and then follow the sign “Non” that points to the left. From here, a steep path leads first to the hamlet Non and then back to the historic centre of Ronco s/Ascona, where you started.
