The Magadino area is best known for the Bolle di Magadino nature reserve. Magadino can be reached by bus, train, car or boat. The Sentiero Orgnana winds its way up through the houses of Magadino to above the village, where it turns left towards Quartino. On an asphalt side road, the path leads along the slope through secluded residential quarters, gardens, woods and meadows. In Quartino it goes past the village down to the river. A nature trail leads back along the Ticino River towards Magadino. Also visit the Forte Olimpio Museum, an old infantry fortress from the First World War (open March-October). This area is part of the Bolle di Magadino (Meridionali) nature reserve and has interesting information panels and there are various observation points along the way. Those who want to cool off after the tour can do so in Magadino at the Lido.
