Vernissage ‘Relazione'

Having had the privilege of exhibiting ten very special new artists in 2024 and exploring exciting themes ranging from perception to distortion and transformation, we are dedicating our last exhibition of the year to the theme of «Relazione». No one would be able to illuminate such a matter more authentically than two long-time companions of the Galleria Sacchetti: Annelies Štrba and Marlis Spielmann. We are looking forward to completely new works on the one hand and never-before-seen works from the artists' collections on the other, and are excited to see how the photographer and the silhouette artist approach our theme of connection.

Annelies Štrba has made a name for herself with her multimedia works, which explore the interplay between photography, painting and installation. Her atmospheric creations capture personal stories and emotional landscapes and invite the viewer into a realm of introspection and wonder.

The second glance plays a central role in Marlis Spielmann's work. The Zurich-based artist uses the thinnest parchment paper to create meticulously detailed works that could not be further removed from the stereotypical Swiss silhouette. In her cuts, Spielmann plays with these very stereotypes and shows us how quickly expectations can lead us up the garden path.
