The Milanese Gianandrea Noseda, one of the brightest and most passionate conductors on the circuit and a regular sight on the most prestigious global stages, makes an appearance in Ascona with the Rome-based orchestra of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia. An exhilarating programme showcases dialogue between keyboards in Mozart’s concerto for two pianos KV 365 – featuring two impressive soloists, Canadian Jan Lisiecki, making his début at the Settimane Musicali, and Ticino’s own Francesco Piemontesi – and ends by scaling the immortal peaks of Beethoven’s fifth symphony. And for all those who like to discover new things, the concert overture by the German composer Jörg Widmann will also be included: lively, expressive and incomparably charming, inspired by Beethoven's 7th Symphony.
