Jocelyn is the general manager of a company that sells sports shoes. An unrepentant bachelor and inveterate seducer, he goes from one conquest to another with great ease.
After attending his mother's funeral, Jocelyn goes to the woman's flat, sitting in her wheelchair. Just then he is surprised by his new neighbour Julia, an attractive wheelchair-bound home help.
Jocelyn immediately decides to win her over too, but to do so he continues to pretend to be a paraplegic. Julia invites him to a Sunday family barbecue, and there Jocelyn discovers to his dismay that she has an older sister who is really a paraplegic, Florence, a violinist with a hobby of tennis.
