The valley narrows and winds its way next to the foaming Maggia river in its deep gorge below. Make sure you pause at the Menzonio, Sentiero bus stop to admire the "Ponte della Merla" bridge. 12 km further on and you reach Prato Sornico, a village made up of two – Prato and Sornico. There is a small grocer's selling local produce. The tour continues on to Peccia with its Centro Internazionale di Scultura and the renowned Grotto Pozzasc restaurant. On reaching the idyllic Piano di Peccia, you turn around and return the same way.
