The tour starts in Ascona, by the lake, and takes you through the town and past the golf course to the Maggia river. The route then follows the river to Losone, where it briefly leaves the Maggia. This is a popular area with bathers in summer. A playground and some sports fields ensure fun for children of all ages. You now follow a dirt track to Golino. The landscape is very varied, as the route leaves the river and enters the woods, passing a riding school, a golf course and a campsite. On reaching Golino, you start to climb towards Arcegno, a pretty little village above Ascona, surrounded by nature. The tour now takes you through some beautiful landscape on the way to Gruppaldo and then, high above the lake, back to Ascona.
