Beautiful and physically demanding two-day tour from Vallemaggia into the Verzasca Valley. A break in the midst of alpine scenery.

It is a tour through wild nature that is reserved for physically fit people due to its length and the many metres in altitude. The start is in Maggia, a small village in the Vallemaggia. Already here there is a lot to discover, such as the Cascata del Salto waterfall, which falls impressively into a large basin. The climb to the Rifugio Alpe Masnee begins with many stone steps up to the chapel of Santa Maria delle Pioda. Continue up and into the fairytale Valle del Salto, a long valley at the end of which there is a water lock. This is where the real climb begins. Shortly before reaching the day's destination, you reach Laghetto di Pianca. At the Rifugio Alpe Masnee you can enjoy total peace and alpine scenery. The descent to Brione Verzasca is long but varied. To the Starlaresc mountain lake (inhabited by alpine newts) and the hut of the same name, then towards Piano del Vald and down into the valley. Brione is an idyllic village, well worth a walk.
