This scenic tour begins in Comologno, one of the last villages in the Onsernone Valley. Cross the river Isorno, which flows below the village, and the steep ascent begins through the impressive Onsernone forest reserve, which extends to Pizzo Ruscada. The reserve has a considerable population of silver firs. After Alpe Lumbardòn, the trail makes a big bend towards Capellone, from where it climbs up to Pizzo Ruscada. The view of the surrounding mountains is fantastic! If you want to skip the summit, choose the direct route to Corte Nuovo, where the Rifugio, renovated in 2016, awaits you with a fantastic view all the way to Lake Maggiore. After Pescia Lunga, there is an up and down along the ridge. Below Pianasc to Pizzin and finally down to the church of Madonna della Segna. Another stone's throw and you reach Monte Comino. From here you can take the cable car down to Verdasio station.
