Circular hike with start and finish on Cardada. Locarno's local mountain can be reached in just a few minutes by cable car. On Cardada, it is worth taking a few minutes to enjoy the panorama from the viewing platform or to linger for a moment on the beautiful playground. A red and white well-maintained hiking trail leads from Cardada up to Cimetta. Along the way there are various mountain restaurants to indulge in culinary delights. The TV antenna on Cimetta can be seen from far away. A chairlift also runs from Cardada to Cimetta if you don't want to make the ascent on foot. An easy descent leads to the Bassa di Cardada pass (crossing into the Verzasca Valley), then zigzags down to Alpe Vegnasca. Until a few years ago, it was still possible to ski here in winter. From here you can also descend to Vallemaggia (Avegno or Gordevio). The trail leads in a wide curve back to Cardada, the starting point of the tour.
