Aesop's fable is the cue to talk about the exploitation of the South American forest; a serious subject, presented in an amusing way. Gallini, the protagonist, during a macroeconomics lesson, hears his lecturer talking about a hen that lays golden eggs in the Amazon. He sets off in search of it! When he gets there, he behaves like a real cunning and ruthless conqueror: he tricks the natives, bribes, cuts down hundreds of millenary trees in order to open a way to get hold of the hen's gold.
