Get to know the Verzasca Valley in a playful way with BoBosco, immerse yourself in nature and make hiking a fun experience also for kids.
Boccia al bosco, or BoBosco for short, is an ingenious marble run made of chestnut wood, consisting of two separate parts. The first part leads from Brione Verzasca to Lavertezzo, the second from Gerra Verzasca to Sonogno. The 9.8 km through the forest and along the emerald-green Verzasca River make these two walks not only exciting fun for families, but also a natural spectacle in a beautiful landscape.
Two marble runs made of chestnut wood to get to know the Verzasca Valley, to introduce children to nature and to add an extra touch of fun to hiking. The wooden balls, locally produced from local chestnut wood, which are needed for the marble run, can be purchased for CHF 9.- at one of the sales points. The hike consists of two parts. On both, there are picnic areas to take a rest and if you keep your eyes open, you might even meet other inhabitants of this beautiful chestnut forest. The first part stretches from Brione Verzasca to Lavertezzo, where the famous Roman bridge can be admired. Along the 5.5 km, you will come across 13 exciting constructions such as pulleys or water locks that carry the marble forward. The second part, starts in Gerra Verzasca and ends in Sonogno, the last village in the valley. On the 4.3 km long route there are 10 playing stations to get your marble rolling. Due to the length of the two walks (don't forget to calculate enough time for playing), it is recommended to do the two parts separately. However, you can shorten the hike as you wish. Bosco, an adventure for families and everyone who enjoys nature and games.
